Senegal youngster Massiré Sylla emerges on AC Milan’s radar
Senegalese defender Massiré Sylla has attracted interest from AC Milan following a series of impressive performances for Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, the 21-year-old centre-back is among several players being monitored by European clubs, with the Italian giants keeping a close eye on his development.
Sylla joined Union Saint-Gilloise last January from Norwegian club Lyn 1896 FK, signing a contract that runs until June 2030. Before moving to Belgium, he had earned recognition in Norway after being named the best young player in the country’s second division.
The former Diambars defender has wasted little time making an impression since arriving at his new club. His performances have attracted attention, particularly during his appearances in the Belgian league and European competitions.
One of his standout moments came in his first start for Union Saint-Gilloise, when he was named man of the match following a convincing 3-0 victory over Mechelen in the Belgian league playoffs.
The young defender has also demonstrated his ability to contribute in the attacking third. He scored in Union Saint-Gilloise’s 5-2 league victory over Cercle Brugge this season, although he also recorded an own goal during the match.
His performances have extended beyond domestic football, with another impressive display coming in the UEFA Europa League.
Sylla was part of the Union Saint-Gilloise side that secured a 3-0 victory over Viktoria Plzeň, further highlighting his growing influence within the team.
His development has reportedly placed him on the radar of several European clubs, with AC Milan among those following his progress.
The Italian club’s interest could make the Senegalese youngster one to watch ahead of the next winter transfer window.
However, it remains unclear whether the reported interest will lead to a formal approach to Union Saint-Gilloise for his signature.
With his contract running until June 2030, Sylla remains tied to the Belgian club as attention continues to grow around his performances.
