Senegal is gearing up to host the CAN 2015 in the under-20 category, and preparations are underway for the event. A delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is scheduled to visit Senegal on April 11 and 12, 2014.
The primary objective of the delegation’s visit is to assess the progress of the rehabilitation work being carried out on stadiums and other venues designated to host the competition. Special attention will be given to the Léopold Sedar Senghor stadium, the largest stadium in the Senegalese capital.
The Léopold Sedar Senghor stadium’s renovation works were suspended following Senegal’s elimination by Ivory Coast during the CAN 2013 playoffs. The incomplete state of the stadium poses concerns, and the delegation will likely focus on ensuring that the necessary upgrades are completed within the specified timeframe.
