Senegal’s Young Lions deliver stunning 7-1 win against Bahrain at U15 World Cup
Senegal’s Young Lions continued their impressive run at the U15 World Cup with a commanding 7-1 victory over Bahrain, recording their second consecutive win in the tournament after an equally emphatic result against Grenada.
The Senegalese side produced another dominant attacking display, scoring twice in the opening four minutes before extending their advantage through Pierre Fleuri Mbengue and a second-half surge that left Bahrain struggling to contain their opponents.
Cire Diallo opened the scoring, while Georges Kanfom and Abdoulaye Diallo also played key roles in a performance that underlined Senegal’s attacking strength.
Abdoulaye, who had scored a hat-trick against Grenada, added two more goals to his tournament tally.
The victory follows Senegal’s 7-1 win over Grenada earlier in the day, giving the Young Lions further momentum as they prepare for their next group-stage fixture against Laos.
Senegal make a flying start against Bahrain
Senegal wasted little time establishing control, with Cire Diallo opening the scoring in the third minute.
The forward finished from close range at the far post after a well-constructed team move, giving the Young Lions an early advantage and setting the tone for another productive outing in front of goal.
They doubled their lead just a minute later when Georges Kanfom found the net.
Having already scored in the opening match, Kanfom continued his strong start to the competition, taking his tally to two goals alongside three assists.
Senegal maintained their pressure and added a third goal in the 15th minute. Pierre Fleuri Mbengue, a midfielder with Génération Foot, finished after receiving a pass from Pape Ibrahima Guèye, the Diambars defender.
The early goals gave Senegal a comfortable cushion, and they went into the interval with a 3-0 lead after controlling the first half.
Their quick start left Bahrain facing a difficult task, with the Young Lions demonstrating the attacking quality that had also been evident in their opening victory.
Abdoulaye Diallo strikes twice after the break
Bahrain managed to get on the scoresheet after the restart, with Rashed Abdulrahman reducing the deficit in the 24th minute.
However, Senegal responded by restoring their attacking momentum and extending their advantage through a series of goals.
In the 30th minute, goalkeeper Mamadou Wade launched a long pass forward that found Cire Diallo.
The forward lobbed the opposing goalkeeper, and Abdoulaye Diallo reacted quickly to collect the loose ball and finish into the net for Senegal’s fourth goal.
Abdoulaye struck again just a minute later, this time converting an opportunity created by Georges Kanfom.
The double took the Salam Academy striker’s tally to five goals in the tournament, following the hat-trick he scored against Grenada.
His contribution further strengthened Senegal’s position as they continued to dominate the contest.
The two quick goals effectively extended the gap between the sides and highlighted Senegal’s ability to turn attacking opportunities into goals.
Ngom and Sané complete Senegal’s seven-goal display
Senegal showed no signs of easing off as the match approached its conclusion.
Mouhamed Ngom scored the sixth goal in the 36th minute, adding to Bahrain’s difficulties as the Young Lions continued to find space and create chances in the attacking areas.
Salif Sané then completed the scoring a minute later with an impressive strike to make it 7-1.
The late goals ensured that Senegal matched their seven-goal output against Grenada, completing another emphatic victory in the competition.
The result also showcased the depth of Senegal’s attacking contribution, with several players getting on the scoresheet and Kanfom helping create opportunities for his teammates.
Young Lions turn attention to Laos
The 7-1 result against Bahrain gives Senegal a second consecutive victory at the U15 World Cup and strengthens the positive start they have made to the tournament.
After defeating Grenada by the same scoreline, the Young Lions have continued to display attacking confidence, scoring freely across their opening matches.
Their next challenge will be against Laos on Monday at 08:45, according to the supplied schedule.
Senegal will look to carry their momentum into that fixture as they seek to maintain their winning run.
Their performances against Grenada and Bahrain have provided an encouraging platform, with the team’s attacking players continuing to make decisive contributions.
With Abdoulaye Diallo already on five goals and Kanfom contributing both goals and assists, the Young Lions will aim to build on their strong start when they return to action.
