Senegal’s women’s national football team will begin their journey in the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with a first-round clash against Chad on February 21 in Abidjan.
The Lionesses will then host the return leg five days later at the Lat Dior Stadium in Thiès.
The two-legged encounter will determine which team advances to the next round, where a meeting with Ivory Coast awaits.
Senegal will be aiming to assert their dominance early in the campaign as they seek a place in the continental tournament.
While focusing on their qualification campaign, the team is also preparing for the upcoming 2024 AFCON in Morocco, set to take place from July 5 to 26.
Senegal has been drawn in Group A alongside the hosts, Morocco, as well as Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
With a busy schedule ahead, the Lionesses will look to maintain momentum as they balance their immediate AFCON qualification objectives with their preparations for this summer’s tournament.
