Garga Mbossé, a wrestler, was hit by a projectile just before his scheduled fight on Ascension Day at Lac Rose of the Fass stable. Following the incident, he spent the night at the Grand Yoff General Hospital near Dakar. The hospital was crowded with curious onlookers, fans, and authorities seeking information about Garga Mbossé’s condition. Despite initial statements suggesting the injury was not serious, he was retained in intensive care for better monitoring. His parents and stable members expressed disappointment that neither CNG officials nor organizers had visited the injured wrestler. Garga Mbossé’s release from the hospital was expected on Friday evening. The police arrested a young man named Ousseynou Mbengue in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing. Lac Rose, Garga’s opponent, condemned the act.
