Senegal striker Lamine Sonko joins Saint-Etienne B after Jura Sud spell

Senegalese centre-forward Lamine Sonko has joined Saint-Etienne B from Jura Sud, completing a move to the French club on 5 August 2026.

The 22-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028. Sonko, who was born in Bambilor, Senegal, stands 1.85m tall and is predominantly right-footed.

Sonko arrives at Saint-Etienne B after making 22 appearances for Jura Sud in National 2 – Group G during the 2025-26 campaign. He scored eight goals and provided two assists, averaging a goal every 214 minutes across 1,715 minutes of league action.

His move gives Saint-Etienne B a centre-forward who has already produced a significant contribution at National 2 level. The club’s reserve side will compete in the same division, National 2 – Group G, during the 2026-27 season.

Sonko joined Jura Sud from Sacre Cur on 28 January 2025. That move marked his arrival at the club before he established himself in its attacking ranks and recorded his most recent competitive figures.

The forward’s profile is centred on the central striker position, with his height and right-footed preference forming part of the playing details he brings to Saint-Etienne B. His latest campaign included both goals and assists, with his eight-goal return making up the main statistical record of his time at Jura Sud.

Saint-Etienne B have now added Sonko to their squad for the new season, with the Senegalese forward committed to the club through June 2028.
