The CAF Disciplinary Board has handed Senegalese duo Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr two‑match suspensions following incidents in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final.

Both players were punished for unsporting behaviour towards the referee in a tense showpiece that drew global attention to African football’s biggest stage.

Ndiaye, a dynamic attacking presence for Senegal, will now miss the next two official CAF matches for his country. His suspension is a major blow, as he has grown into a key creative outlet for the Teranga Lions, often linking midfield and attack with his close control and work rate.

Sarr, known for his pace and direct running, received the same two‑match ban, depriving Senegal of one of their most dangerous wide threats.

These individual sanctions come alongside heavier financial penalties issued to the Senegalese federation for the behaviour of supporters, players and technical staff during the final.

While Ndiaye and Sarr will have time to reflect away from competitive action, their long‑term importance to Senegal remains unquestioned, and both will be expected to return with renewed focus once their suspensions are served.
