Senegal international Sadio Mane marked an impressive return to club football, as Al Nassr defeated Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League on Monday.
After inspiring the Taranga Lions to AFCON 2025 glory in Morocco and being crowned Player of the tournament, the Al Nassr star wasted no time in making his presence felt back in the Saudi Pro League.
Making his first league appearance since the AFCON triumph, the 33-year-old forward delivered an assured and influential display as Al Nassr edged past Al Taawoun 1–0 in the matchday 17 fixture
Mane was at the heart of Al Nassr’s attacking play throughout the encounter, playing a decisive role in securing all three points.
His commanding performance did not go unnoticed, as he was duly named Man of the Match, underlining his immediate impact upon returning from international duty. The award also marked his first individual honour at club level since his AFCON heroics, where he inspired the Taranga Lions to continental success and claimed the tournament’s top individual accolade.
Mane’s seamless transition from international triumph to club excellence further highlighted his leadership and consistency, reaffirming his status as one of African football’s most influential figures and a key pillar in Al Nassr’s title ambitions this season.
