Senegal raises ticket prices for decisive World Cup qualifier against Mauritania

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced a significant increase in ticket prices for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying clash between Senegal and Mauritania.

The match, scheduled for 14 October at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio, will be the final fixture of the qualifying campaign and is expected to draw a massive crowd.

The highly anticipated encounter has generated strong public interest, with the Lions of Teranga aiming to seal qualification in front of their home supporters.

In an effort to streamline access and reduce queues, the FSF confirmed that ticketing for the match will be entirely digital.

According to the federation, prices for all stands have been raised considerably compared with the last home qualifier against Sudan.

Seats in the Red Stand will now cost 3,000 CFA francs, up from 1,000 CFA francs previously.

Tickets for the Yellow Stand South and North Turns have jumped to 10,000 CFA francs from 3,000 CFA francs, while the Yellow Center Stand has risen from 5,000 CFA francs to 20,000 CFA francs.

The premium Annex Loge stand has also seen an increase, climbing from 15,000 CFA francs to 20,000 CFA francs.

These revised rates, the FSF confirmed, will apply exclusively for the Senegal–Mauritania showdown on 14 October.

The announcement has stirred debate among supporters, many of whom were taken by surprise at the scale of the price hikes.

Yet the FSF is confident the new pricing structure will not dampen enthusiasm for a match of such significance.

With everything to play for, Senegal’s players will be counting on a fervent home atmosphere as they aim to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup.

Mauritania, meanwhile, are expected to provide stiff opposition, adding further intrigue to a contest that promises high drama and intensity.

By implementing digital ticketing and adjusting prices, the FSF says it is working to improve matchday organisation and fan experience at one of the country’s premier sporting venues.
