There is no tv broadcaster for Senegal's upcoming friendly match against Peru

Senegal’s upcoming international friendly against Peru at the Stade de France is clouded by uncertainty, with no confirmed television broadcaster just days before kickoff.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 17:00, yet French viewers remain in the dark as no network has officially secured the rights to air the game.

No Broadcast Deal in Place

With less than a week to go, the situation remains unresolved, leaving fans unsure how they will follow Senegal’s first outing since the Africa Cup of Nations.

The issue is unrelated to the ongoing dispute involving Morocco after the AFCON final. Instead, it stems from challenges in finalising broadcasting agreements for the fixture.

The Senegalese Football Federation opened an international call for tenders on March 13 in a bid to sell the rights. However, major French broadcasters, including L’Équipe and Canal+ Sport, have yet to confirm any deal.

At present, only FOX Deportes is reported to have secured rights to air the match, leaving the French market without coverage.

Frustration Grows Among Supporters

Television listings in France continue to show the match as “not scheduled,” adding to growing frustration among supporters eager to watch the national team in action.

The lack of clarity is striking, given the scale of the occasion. Organisers are expecting a crowd of around 80,000 fans at the Stade de France, with plans for a vibrant celebration surrounding the team.

AFCON Tensions in the Background

The uncertainty over broadcasting comes shortly after the Confederation of African Football awarded Morocco the AFCON title based on Articles 82 and 84.

Senegal, however, has maintained a firm stance in recent weeks, insisting it will not relinquish the title until the legal process is concluded.

In a symbolic move, the Senegalese federation plans to use the friendly against Peru as an opportunity to present the AFCON trophy on the pitch, adding further significance to an already high-profile encounter
