Senegal will have to negotiate for victory in a high-profile friendly match against Brazil without FC Metz attacker Habib Diallo.
The Taranga Lions takes on the South American football heavyweights at the Emirates Stadium in London, on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Ahead of the match, the one-time AFCON champions has suffered a major setback, with striker Habib Diallo sidelined for the clash due to injury. Diallo suffered the setback while in action for FC Metz in the Ligue 1.
The 30-year-old striker has left the squad after picking up an injury, making him unavailable for the Brazil showdown. Recalled as reinforcement during the October international break, Habib Diallo distinguished himself with his effectiveness and was logically included in the November squad, a sign of his return to form and strong motivation.
The injury come as a huge blow for the African side as they gear up for the much-anticipated clash against the five-time World Cup winners.
Diallo will be eyeing a strong return to the Senegal team as they gear up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026.
Meanwhile, Diallo is dreaming to play in the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.
“Everyone would love to represent their country at the World Cup, the AFCON, or the Euros. Everyone is looking for that. I haven’t yet had the chance to participate in the World Cup. During the last World Cup, I went through the qualifiers and everything, but I didn’t go. So I’d really like to, even if it’s the coach who decides,” said Habib Diallo.
