Senegal: Lions Goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul Mourns the Loss of His Father

SENEGAL GOALKEEPER BOUNA COUNDOUL IN MOURNING AFTER FATHER’S PASSING

Senegal national team goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul is grieving the loss of his father, Ibrahima Coundoul, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 82 following a brief illness.

The death occurred in Guédiawaye, a suburb of Dakar, where the Coundoul family resides. The late Ibrahima Coundoul was laid to rest on Sunday in Nguith, located in the Linguère department, approximately 150 kilometers from the capital.

Bouna Coundoul, who currently plays club football in Cyprus, was not able to attend the funeral in time but was expected to arrive in Senegal shortly. A long-time servant of the national team, Coundoul has earned around forty international caps since debuting for the Lions of Teranga in 2007.

The entire footballing community in Senegal, as well as the team at Africa Top Sports, extends heartfelt condolences to Bouna Coundoul and his family during this difficult time.
