This win was crucial for Guédiawaye FC as it prevented their closest rivals, Etics of Mboro, from having a chance to overtake them for promotion.
Unfortunately for Etics of Mboro, they failed to secure promotion once again, drawing 1-1 against AS Saloum.
Relegation Battles:
In the matches that determined relegation to the lower division, known as National, the competition was fierce.
Four teams were at risk: US Gorée, CNEPS from Thiés, Kawral from Vélingara, and RS Yoff.
RS Yoff managed to secure their spot in the league for next season by defeating US Gorée 1-0.
Meanwhile, CNEPS and Kawral de Vélingara played out a goalless draw, which means both teams will be relegated to the National league next season.
