The fifth day of Ligue 1 Orange Senegal, which took place over the weekend, did not match the high pace set by the previous round, where five victories and around ten goals were recorded. In this latest round, held between Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, 2014, only two victories were secured, with five draws and a total of seven goals scored.
The first victory goes to the Diambars Institute of Saly, which defeated the Ouakam Sports Union 2-0 on Saturday at the Demba Diop Stadium in Dakar. The second win was claimed by Stade de Mbour, a newly promoted team, which triumphed 1-0 against another promoted side, Suneor, securing its first victory of the season.
All other matches ended in draws. Diaraf de Dakar and AS Pikine played out a goalless draw in a match between two of the most successful coaches currently in Ligue 1. Casa Sports of Ziguinchor, affected by the departure of several players abroad, drew 0-0 against Touré Kunda of Mbour.
La Linguère de Saint-Louis earned its first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Olympique de Ngor. Yeggo and Étudiants du Duc also played to a goalless draw, along with the league leader Port Autonome de Dakar, which managed to equalize after falling behind, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Niarry Tally.
