Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has been named one of the world’s most influential strikers in a new global ranking released by the CIES Football Observatory, placing 24th overall and ahead of notable names including Lionel Messi, Kai Havertz, and Alexander Sørloth.

According to the CIES data, which evaluates strikers based on multiple criteria, Jackson’s all-round contributions have earned him a place in the top 30 forwards globally.
The report assesses various technical and physical attributes, such as aerial duels, finishing, dribbling (referred to as “percussion”), and playmaking. Jackson scored 52 out of 100 in aerial ability and 78 in finishing, reflecting his development in front of goal.
He also recorded a 65/100 rating for dribbling and 62/100 for his assist potential, underlining his versatility and growing influence in attacking play.
Despite facing criticism during the campaign, Jackson’s role at Chelsea has remained pivotal.
His work ethic and adaptability have not gone unnoticed, especially by Maresca, who has consistently backed the striker throughout the season.
“He’s an important player for us,” Maresca said in a recent press conference. “He works hard, he listens, and he’s always looking to improve. That’s what I want to see.”
Jackson’s inclusion in the CIES ranking places him among the elite in global football, with only a handful of African forwards making the cut.
Topping the list is Kylian Mbappé, followed by Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and England captain Harry Kane.
The presence of Jackson in such esteemed company highlights the strides he has made since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
