For the second time in its history, Génération Foot has claimed the Senegalese Ligue 1 title, securing the 2018-2019 championship on Sunday. The club, led by President Mady Touré, clinched the crown following a convincing 3-0 victory over Mbour Petite Côte.
With the win, Génération Foot now sits at 47 points, 15 ahead of their closest rival and reigning champion, Jaraaf. With three matchdays remaining, the team remains unbeaten this season, boasting a record of 12 wins and 11 draws.
The club, renowned for developing talents such as Liverpool’s Sadio Mané and Metz striker Adama Niane, previously won the Senegalese Ligue 1 title two years ago under manager Olivier Perrin. This latest triumph further cements Génération Foot’s reputation as one of the country’s most successful and talent-producing football clubs.
