Senegal forward Bamba Dieng’s move to Turkish club Amedspor collapses

Senegal international Bamba Dieng’s proposed transfer to Turkish side Amedspor has fallen through after the striker reportedly pulled out of the deal over changes to the agreed contract terms.

The former Olympique Marseille forward had been widely expected to travel to Turkey to complete the move, with negotiations believed to be at an advanced stage. However, the transfer unexpectedly collapsed at the final hurdle on Monday, leaving Dieng’s future unresolved.

Early reports in Turkish media suggested that the deal broke down because the Senegalese striker failed his medical examination. Those claims, however, have since been dismissed, with Dieng making it clear that the speculation was inaccurate.

According to reports, the 25-year-old was preparing to fly to Turkey when he discovered that several key conditions that had been agreed during negotiations had been changed without his approval.

Among the reported alterations were his salary package and other important contractual terms, prompting the striker to halt the transfer before travelling to complete the formalities.

The report further claims that intermediaries involved in the transfer attempted to revise aspects of the agreement in an effort to increase their commission, resulting in significant differences between the original terms and the final contract presented to the player.

Faced with the unexpected changes, Dieng is said to have decided against travelling to Turkey, effectively bringing negotiations with Amedspor to an end.

The collapse of the deal means the Senegal international will now continue assessing his options as he searches for the next destination in his career.

Dieng has built a reputation as a pacey and energetic forward since emerging at Marseille, where he enjoyed memorable moments in Ligue 1 and European competitions before moving on in search of regular playing time.

While Amedspor had identified the Senegalese attacker as a key addition to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Turkish Super Lig campaign, the disagreement over contractual terms ultimately proved impossible to overcome.
