Senegal forward Bamba Dieng continues impressive run as Lorient stun league contenders RC Lens
Senegalese international Bamba Dieng continued his impressive scoring run for FC Lorient after delivering another decisive performance in their clash against RC Lens in the Ligue 1.
Dieng once again demonstrated his attacking instincts, when Lorient hosted Lens at the Stade du Moustoir as part of Matchday 26 of the French league season.
Dieng wasted little time making his presence felt in the match. In the 18th minute, the 25-year-old forward broke the deadlock with a well-taken finish, giving Lorient an early advantage and energizing the home supporters. His goal came after a lively start from the hosts, who were determined to impose themselves against a competitive Lens side.
The strike further highlighted Dieng’s growing importance to Lorient’s attacking setup. Since joining the club, the Senegal international has steadily become one of their most reliable offensive outlets, combining pace, movement, and clinical finishing to trouble opposing defenses.
With this latest goal, Dieng has now scored seven goals in 14 appearances during the 2025–2026 Ligue 1 campaign. In addition to his goal tally, the forward has also contributed one assist, underlining his role not only as a finisher but also as a creator within the team’s attacking framework.
His consistent form has been a major boost for Lorient as they look to climb the Ligue 1 table and secure a strong finish to the season. Dieng’s ability to deliver crucial goals at key moments has provided the team with a valuable edge in tight matches.
The striker’s performances have also continued to strengthen his reputation as one of Senegal’s promising attacking talents. Having previously showcased his abilities in European competitions and international football, Dieng appears to be rediscovering his best form in France.
As the Ligue 1 season progresses, Lorient will be hoping that their Senegalese forward can maintain his impressive scoring rhythm. If Dieng continues producing decisive contributions like the one against Lens, he could play a central role in shaping the club’s ambitions for the remainder of the campaign
