A journalistic investigation has identified the Senegal supporter who carried the letter “A” on his chest in the famous “S-E-N-E-G-A-L” fan group and was filmed attacking a security guard during the AFCON 2025 final in Morocco.
The footage showed the topless fan using part of a stadium seat structure to strike a private security officer, sparking outrage and calls for accountability.
Moroccan journalist Naima Lahrouni reported, citing a detailed piece published on Senegalese outlet Dsports on 7 January 2026, that the man is Samba Gana Seck, a construction worker living in the Cambérène district and a member of the Senegal supporters’ group since 2004.
The Dsports article, titled “Grand reportage – Torse nu pour la patrie: quand le S.E.N.E.G.A.L s’écrit en chair et en peinture,” traced his identity through long-term coverage of the fan group.
The findings were reinforced by archival photos published on RFI in a feature about AFCON 2022 titled “CAN 2022: S.E.N.E.G.A.L, l’histoire des 7 lettres qui supportent les Lions.” Those older images showed the same group members without body paint, allowing for a clear comparison between their natural faces and the viral clips from the Morocco final.
Lahrouni underlined that this investigation is not a legal accusation or court ruling.
Instead, it is a media-based identification relying on documented archives and recent events to provide accurate information about the individual seen in the videos, while awaiting any official clarification or action from the relevant authorities.
