Souleymane Diawara Focuses on OGC Nice Amid Senegal National Team Uncertainty
Newly signed OGC Nice defender Souleymane Diawara has pledged his full commitment to his club, putting national team considerations on hold. The experienced former Marseille player revealed he is not currently thinking about a recall to the Senegal squad.
“I haven’t been to the national team for two years, so I’m not thinking about it. I’m here for OGC Nice,” Diawara told Footafrica365.fr.
Senegal has been drawn into a challenging group for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside Tunisia, Egypt, and Botswana. The Lions of Teranga will kick off their campaign against Egypt.
Diawara’s focus remains firmly on establishing himself at his new club as Senegal prepares for what promises to be a tough qualifying campaign.
