Teungueth FC and Diambars FC have secured places in the quarter-finals of the Senegal Cup after contrasting victories in the first round of 16 matches played on Wednesday.

Teungueth FC booked their place in the next round with a 2–1 victory over AS Pikine in a tightly contested encounter between two sides from the country’s top division.

Meanwhile, Diambars required a penalty shootout to eliminate HLM Dakar following a goalless draw in regulation time.

The meeting between Teungueth and AS Pikine took place at the Ngalandou Diouf Stadium, where the home side managed to edge past their rivals after a competitive match.

Both teams approached the contest with intensity, reflecting the significance of the Senegal Cup and the rivalry between two Ligue 1 opponents.

Teungueth eventually emerged victorious with a 2–1 scoreline, ensuring their progression to the quarter-finals and ending Pikine’s hopes of advancing further in the tournament.

The match lived up to expectations as a strong domestic clash, with the Rufisque-based club showing resilience against a determined opponent.

In the other fixture of the day, Diambars faced HLM Dakar in Mbour in a match that remained undecided throughout normal time.

Diambars held their nerve from the spot, winning the shootout 4–3 to secure their place in the next round.

The victory means the Mbour-based club joins Teungueth FC in the quarter-finals as the Senegal Cup continues to progress toward its later stages.
