Joseph Antoine Bell, the former Cameroonian international footballer, was honored with his induction into the Pantheon of Glory of African Sport in the Men’s category for 2013. The induction ceremony took place in Dakar and was organized by Jappo Sports & Entertainment, a Senegalese sports management and events company that also initiated the International Sports Convention in Africa (CISA).
The Pantheon of Glory of African Sport serves as a symbol and recognition of the efforts of former African athletes who have made significant contributions to the continent. Joseph Antoine Bell joins the esteemed ranks alongside previous inductees, including Malian Salif Keita and Franco-Congolese athlete Mpélé.
The ceremony in Dakar was attended by diplomatic authorities from Cameroon, Niger, Algeria, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Sports of Senegal. In his speech, Bell emphasized the importance of building a bridge between the old generations of African athletes and the new ones, highlighting the need for continuity and mentorship within African sports.
