Sekou Gassama: Mali-UAE winger joins Ajman Club on loan from Al-Ain

Ajman Club have signed Mali-United Arab Emirates winger Sekou Gassama on loan from Al-Ain for the 2026-27 UAE Pro League season.

The 25-year-old right-sided attacker, who prefers to operate on the right flank cutting in on his left foot, arrives with a contract at Ajman running until 30 June 2027. He moves across the league as part of a loan deal from Al-Ain, where he remains under contract and is due to return when the spell ends.

Gassama has built up considerable experience in UAE football despite his age, featuring regularly in the Pro League, domestic cups and continental competition. Across league, cup and international club tournaments, he has made more than 90 senior appearances, scoring in the UAE Pro League, League Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Born in 2001 and standing at 1.81m, Gassama has already represented several clubs in the country. After his breakthrough at Al-Bataeh, he earned a move to Al-Ain in 2024 before spending last season on loan at Kalba FC, where his spell concluded in June 2026.

His most eye-catching contribution on the international club stage came in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, where he recorded a goal and an assist in a single appearance. In league action he has 10 goals and nine assists in 78 Pro League matches, underlining his ability to contribute in the final third.

Gassama will now spend the 2026-27 campaign with Ajman Club on loan from Al-Ain, with the move already scheduled to end on 30 June 2027.
