Sekhukhune bring in South Africa winger Mcedi Vandala from AmaZulu

South Africa winger Mcedi Vandala has joined Sekhukhune from AmaZulu FC, completing a domestic move in the Betway Premiership.

The 31-year-old, who plays on the right wing, switches clubs after leaving AmaZulu and was registered as a Sekhukhune player on 4 August 2026. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Vandala is a left-footed attacking player whose preferred position is on the right side of the forward line. His arrival gives Sekhukhune another option in a role that allows him to operate from the flank while using his stronger foot to influence play in the final third.

The move keeps Vandala in South Africa’s top-flight football structure, with both AmaZulu and Sekhukhune competing in the Betway Premiership. It also represents a change of club at the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Vandala had not made an appearance in the Betway Premiership during the season before the transfer. He was listed with zero appearances, goals, assists and minutes from the opening fixture recorded at the time of his move.

Born on 11 March 1995, Vandala has spent his senior career as a wide attacker and now begins a new chapter with Sekhukhune. His nationality and playing position make him a domestic addition rather than an overseas signing, while his age brings experience to the club’s attacking group.

AmaZulu are the player’s previous club, with Vandala’s switch ending his time there and taking him to a new Betway Premiership side. Sekhukhune will be his current club following the completed registration, with the move dated 4 August 2026.

Vandala’s listed market value is €50,000, although that figure is separate from the transfer fee and does not establish the financial terms of the deal. The agreement’s duration has not been stated.
