Seifeddine Jaziri poised to sign new contract extension with Zamalek
Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri is reportedly close to extending his stay at Zamalek SC, with final preparations underway to formalize his contract renewal. Anas Ben Meim, Jaziri’s lawyer, has confirmed that they are awaiting the official signing of the paperwork to finalize the deal, which would secure the 31-year-old forward’s future with the Cairo-based club.
Jaziri, who joined Zamalek in 2020, has become a vital asset for the team, notching 36 goals in 134 appearances.
His contributions on the field have played a significant role in the club’s recent successes, including two Egyptian Premier League titles, an Egyptian Cup, a CAF Super Cup, and a CAF Confederation Cup.
In a recent interview with ON TIME Sports 1, Ben Meim shared insights into the contract renewal process.
We reached an agreement with Zamalek in September,” he stated.
The contracts were supposed to be signed on Saturday, and I contacted Zamalek board member Amr Adham to finalize and sign them on Monday.”
According to Ben Meim, Jaziri’s commitment to Zamalek remains unwavering despite outstanding salary payments owed by the club.
Jaziri prefers staying at Zamalek, and the negotiations were straightforward.
We are now just waiting for the signing and documentation of the contracts,” he explained.
Highlighting the forward’s dedication, Ben Meim added, “Despite being owed unpaid salaries, Jaziri has always prioritized fulfilling Zamalek’s requests.
He has never caused problems for any board or exerted pressure on them.”
Ben Meim also expressed their intent to complete the contract before key upcoming competitions, allowing Jaziri to focus fully on his performance.
We aimed to finalize all agreements before the CAF and Egyptian Super Cups to allow Jaziri to concentrate on the competitions,” he said. Ben Meim, working closely with Hazem Fatouh, Jaziri’s agent, is keen on securing terms that prioritize the player’s best interests.
Since first arriving in Egypt in 2017, Jaziri has become a well-regarded figure in Egyptian football, representing clubs such as Tanta and Arab Contractors before joining Zamalek.
His consistent performance on the field has not only solidified his role as a key player but also earned him a loyal fan base in Mit Okba, Zamalek’s home neighborhood.
As Zamalek looks ahead to critical domestic and continental fixtures, the club will be hopeful that Jaziri’s new contract will soon be signed, sealing the striker’s continued presence in the squad.
His commitment to the club, even amid financial uncertainties, underscores his value as both a player and a dedicated team member.
