Louis Bongongui, a 19-year-old Cameroonian striker, is aspiring to sign his first professional contract with Sedan. Currently designated as a professional trainee, Bongongui has already made two appearances for Sedan this season.

Despite the challenges faced by the club, Bongongui expresses a strong desire to commit to Sedan professionally. He appreciates the trust the club places in young talents and feels a deep connection to the team. In an interview with L’Union, he stated, “I want to sign my first professional contract at Sedan because the club trusts young people. I can’t imagine myself anywhere other than here, even if the situation is difficult. You have to do everything to get back up. In any case, we are not thinking about possible relegation.”

Bongongui emphasizes his commitment and hard work in training, acknowledging the coach’s recognition of his performances. He sees his dedication as a way to repay the trust placed in him.

Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Bongongui discovered football in the streets before moving to Bondy at the age of 9. He started his football journey in Seine-Saint-Denis, where he was spotted by Vincent Mathey. Mathey offered him an internship at CSSA (Sedan’s training center), and Bongongui quickly progressed through the ranks.

Despite facing disappointment in not playing in the Gambardella Cup final at the Stade de France, Bongongui values the experience and acknowledges the potential of the team. His ambition and loyalty to Sedan reflect his determination to contribute to the club’s success in the future.
