Sead Ramovic’s CR Belouizdad tenure nearing end as options contacted

The tenure of German-Bosnian tactician Sead Ramovic at Algerian giants CR Belouizdad is reaching a tipping point, with the club already initiating talks with potential successors following a turbulent week of internal friction and a formal suspension.

The 47-year-old former TS Galaxy manager was temporarily suspended from his duties last week amid a sharp decline in domestic form.

Despite leading the “Chababists” to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals, where they are scheduled to face Zamalek SC later this month, Ramovic has struggled to maintain consistency in the Algerian Ligue 1.

A decisive 1-0 defeat to league leaders MC Alger on March 25 left Belouizdad languishing in seventh place, threatening their qualification for next season’s continental competitions.

Relations between the coach and the club’s hierarchy have reportedly soured beyond repair. The situation reached a head when board chairman Badr Eddine Bahloul personally intervened, attending training sessions to demand greater discipline and accountability from the squad.

While Ramovic remains officially under contract, reports indicate the club is already in active negotiations with Nabil Maaloul—the Tunisian mentor currently at Qadsia SC—and Laurentiu Reghecampf of Al-Hilal Omdurman as primary candidates to take over the dugout.

In the interim, the duo of Salim Sebaa and Mustafa Kordoglu has been tasked with leading the team, including for their scheduled fixture against Paradou AC on April 1.

The club has also enforced sweeping disciplinary measures, including deducting match bonuses and launching internal investigations into administrative and medical staff.

Ramovic, who joined the Algiers-based club in early 2025 and recently marked a 50-match milestone, now appears to be in the final days of his Algerian chapter as the club prioritizes stability ahead of their high-stakes continental semi-final.
