FC Schalke 04 has officially tied down one of its brightest young prospects, Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara, with a professional contract running until 2028.
The explosive winger, who has been a standout performer for Schalke’s U19 side, is now set to take the next big step in his career.
Amoussou-Tchibara has been a driving force for the U19 squad, netting 17 goals in just 14 games while also featuring for the club’s regional league team. His impressive performances earned him a spot in Schalke’s winter training camp, where he convinced the club’s decision-makers to hand him a senior deal.
“With Zaid, another U19 talent has earned a professional contract through strong performances. He has learned a lot under Norbert Elgert over the past one and a half years,” said squad planner Ben Manga.
The 50-year-old, responsible for scouting and youth development, has now promoted seven U19 players to Schalke’s first team. Amoussou-Tchibara is eager to embrace the opportunity, stating: “For the coming years, those responsible have shown me a very interesting path that I would like to go with them.”
