Schalke gain ground in Moussa Ndiaye pursuit

RSC Anderlecht have softened their stance on Moussa Ndiaye, and that is welcome news for Schalke 04.

Instead of insisting on a straight sale, the Belgian club is now open to a new loan deal that includes a purchase option, making a transfer much more realistic for the German side.

Anderlecht had previously wanted only an outright sale, with a fee of around four to five million euros being discussed. That price made things difficult for Schalke, but the revised offer gives the club a far more manageable route back into the race for the 24-year-old left-back.

Ndiaye already knows Schalke well after spending the second half of last season there on loan and leaving a positive impression. His return would therefore come with less risk than bringing in a completely new face, especially at a time when Schalke are also being linked with Robin Gosens.

For Schalke, the timing is useful. A familiar player is suddenly available on friendlier terms, and that could push Ndiaye back toward the top of their transfer list.
