Schalke 04 have submitted a concrete offer in their pursuit of Cameroon international forward Frank Magri ahead of the summer transfer window.

Magri is currently available as a free agent following his departure from Toulouse after the expiration of his contract. The forward has, however, attracted significant interest from several clubs in Europe, with Schalke 04 no exception.

The 25-year-old forward is understood to be a priority target for Schalke as the German club prepares for life back in the Bundesliga. The Royal Blues are looking to rebuild a competitive squad capable of maintaining their top-flight status, and Magri’s profile has reportedly impressed the club’s recruitment department.

According to reports, Schalke have already gone on the offensive by presenting a formal proposal to the Cameroonian international in an effort to secure his signature before rival clubs intensify their interest.

Magri is viewed as an attractive option due to his physical presence, versatility in attack and experience in French football. Despite Toulouse enduring difficult periods during his time at the club, the striker showed flashes of quality and remains highly regarded for his work rate and ability to operate across the frontline.

German rivals Hamburger SV are also monitoring the striker closely as they seek attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign. Hamburg’s interest could complicate Schalke’s pursuit, especially with both clubs aiming to strengthen significantly for the Bundesliga season.

In France, Angers SCO are also believed to be keeping tabs on the situation. Angers are looking to add more firepower to their squad and see Magri as a player capable of bringing pace, energy and experience to their attack.

Meanwhile, Italian side Cagliari Calcio have also emerged as potential contenders for the Cameroonian’s signature. The Serie A outfit are reportedly exploring several attacking options this summer and consider Magri a valuable market opportunity due to his free-agent status.

With multiple clubs now expressing interest, Magri is expected to carefully evaluate his options before making a decision on the next chapter of his career.

The striker will also be keen to secure regular playing time as he looks to strengthen his position within the Cameroon national football team setup ahead of upcoming international competitions.

As competition for his signature intensifies, Schalke’s early approach could give the German club an important advantage in the race to land the Cameroonian forward.
