Newly promoted Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are reportedly interested in signing Cameroon international Junior Dina Ebimbe as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old midfielder has emerged as a target for Schalke following his recent loan spell with Stade Brestois 29 in France’s Ligue 1. His performances have attracted attention from the German club, which is eager to add experience and quality as it prepares for life back in the Bundesliga.

According to reports from football journalist Florian Plettenberg, Schalke have identified Dina Ebimbe as a player capable of strengthening their midfield options. However, negotiations are yet to formally begin, with no official approach made to his parent club, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Frankfurt are understood to value the Cameroonian midfielder at around €3 million and are willing to sanction a transfer should a suitable offer arrive. Schalke, however, are reportedly hoping to complete the deal for a lower fee and are currently prepared to offer approximately €1 million.

The significant gap between the two valuations means discussions could prove challenging if Schalke decide to pursue the transfer further. Nevertheless, the club remains interested in exploring a deal as it seeks cost-effective additions during the summer transfer window.

Dina Ebimbe, who has experience in both the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, is regarded as a versatile midfielder capable of operating in several roles across the middle of the park. His athleticism, work rate, and ability to contribute in attack and defence make him an attractive option for clubs seeking midfield depth.

For Schalke, securing the Cameroonian would represent another important step in their efforts to build a squad capable of competing in the Bundesliga after earning promotion. Whether the two clubs can bridge the valuation gap remains to be seen, but Dina Ebimbe is expected to be one of the names to watch as the transfer window progresses.
