Schalke 04 close in on Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe
Schalke 04 have reached a verbal agreement with Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe over a contract that would run until June 2028, with an option to extend the deal for a further season.
The Cameroon international has completed discussions over his proposed personal terms with the club, according to Florian Plettenberg. The agreement would take the 27-year-old midfielder to Schalke 04 from Eintracht Frankfurt, where he remains under contract until 30 June 2027.
A move is not yet complete because Schalke 04 still have to reach an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt. However, negotiations between the two clubs are understood to be at an advanced stage, with a positive conclusion possible in the coming days if the remaining details can be settled.
Dina Ebimbe’s experience in the Bundesliga is regarded as an important factor in Schalke 04’s interest. The club are looking to strengthen their midfield with a player who has already competed at the highest level in Germany and is familiar with the demands of the division.
Unless there is a late change in circumstances, the transfer appears to be progressing well. The outstanding discussions are now focused on the agreement between the clubs rather than the player’s contract.
Dina Ebimbe is currently valued at €6m by Transfermarkt. The midfielder earns an annual income of €720,000, equivalent to 468,000,000 CFA francs.
The proposed contract would initially keep him at Schalke 04 until June 2028, while the additional option would allow the club to retain him for another season. Any move remains dependent on the final terms being agreed with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Schalke 04 have therefore made significant progress in their attempt to bring Dina Ebimbe to the club, but the transfer cannot be considered final until the two sides complete their negotiations.
