Sayed Abdel Hafeez’s rumored return to Al Ahly’s administrative ranks has been dismissed, with the club focused on stability ahead of a crucial CAF Champions League clash.
Speculation circulated about the former football director reclaiming his role or replacing Mohamed Ramadan as sports director, but a club insider set the record straight.
“There is no intention within Al Ahly to make any changes to the administrative staff in the coming period,” the source told Kooora.
“All the rumors about Sayed Abdel Hafeez returning to his old position as director of football, or as sports director instead of Mohamed Ramadan, are incorrect.
“Al Ahly has an important match against Sundowns in the CAF Champions League semi-finals, and it doesn’t make sense to make any changes, whether technical or administrative.
“At the end of the season, the situation will be evaluated, but so far, the idea of Mohamed Ramadan’s departure and the return of Sayed Abdel Hafeez or anyone else has not been discussed,” he ended.
Interestingly, Abdel Hafeez seems to have bigger goals, eyeing a spot on Al Ahly’s board of directors.
