Saudi side Al-Nassr sweat over Sadio Mané injury ahead of Al-Khaleej clash

Sadio Mané has raised fresh concerns within the ranks of Al-Nassr FC ahead of their upcoming encounter with Al-Khaleej FC in the Saudi Professional League.

The Senegalese winger reportedly sustained an ankle injury during Al-Nassr’s training session on Thursday evening, casting doubt over his availability for Saturday’s match.

Despite the setback, Mané travelled with the team to Dammam as preparations continued for the league fixture.

According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadh, the injury occurred during the club’s final preparations for the match. The situation adds to Al-Nassr’s difficulties, as the team is already dealing with several absences, including that of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who is sidelined with a hamstring problem.

In a related development, journalist Abdulaziz Al-Osaimi stated on his account on the X platform that Mané will undergo medical tests shortly before kickoff to determine whether he will be able to participate in the match.

Since joining Al-Nassr from FC Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, Mané has established himself as one of the team’s key attacking figures.

Across 119 appearances in all competitions, the Senegal international has scored 47 goals and provided 32 assists, underlining his importance to the Saudi club’s offensive line.
