Saudi King’s Cup last-16 draw: date, time and how to watch

The draw for the 2026-27 Saudi King’s Cup round of 16 will take place on Thursday, 20 August 2026, with the ceremony scheduled for 15:00 Saudi Arabia time and 16:00 in the United Arab Emirates.

The draw will be held at Thmanyah’s studios, with Thmanyah holding the exclusive broadcasting rights for the ceremony. Supporters will be able to watch it through the network’s television channels, while Thmanyah’s dedicated application will also provide live coverage.

The Saudi King’s Cup is one of the most important competitions in the country, with the trophy widely known as “the most expensive cup”. Winning it represents a major honour for all the clubs involved.

Al Hilal are the current holders of the competition. The round-of-32 stage produced a series of eye-catching matches and major surprises, most notably Al Shabab’s elimination by Al Wehda. The latter were relegated to the First Division, known as the Yelo League, this season.

The draw format changed from the 2024-25 edition onwards. Previously, a draw at the beginning of the competition determined the route for every team. Under the current system, a separate draw is held before each round of the King’s Cup.

The last-16 matches are scheduled to be played on 19 and 20 October 2026.

The teams listed as having reached the round of 16 are:

– Al-Hazem – Al-Orobah – Al Wehda – Al-Anwar/Al Ahli – Al Tai/Al Qadsiah – Al Zulfi/Al Riyadh – Al Adalah/Al Fayha – Al Raed/Al Hilal – Al Jabalain/Al Ettifaq – Al Najma/Al Ittihad – Al Okhdood/Al Khaleej – Al-Diriyah/Al Nassr – Al Faisaly/Neom – Damac/Al Taawoun – Jeddah/Al Kholood – AlUla/Al Fateh

The ceremony is expected to attract close attention from Saudi football supporters, who will discover the next match-ups in the country’s premier domestic cup competition. The draw announcement has been promoted by Thmanyah through its sports platforms, with the event taking place at the network’s studios on Thursday.

The 2026-27 competition has already delivered an early shock through Al Shabab’s departure, after they were beaten by Al Wehda, who are competing in the Yelo League following their relegation. The remaining clubs will now await the outcome of the draw before preparing for the two-day last-16 schedule in October.

Thmanyah’s television channels and application will provide the available routes for following the draw live. Fans can therefore watch the ceremony as the ties are revealed, with the broadcast beginning at 15:00 in Saudi Arabia and 16:00 in the United Arab Emirates.
