Al-Ittihad Jeddah are reportedly plotting a major move in the transfer market as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of next season, with Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga emerging as a high-profile target.
The Saudi Pro League giants are reportedly considering a move for the France international of Congolese descent as the summer transfer window approaches. Al-Ittihad are said to be keen on adding elite quality to their midfield and view Camavinga as a marquee signing capable of elevating the team to the next level.
Al Ittihad is searching for a long-term replacement for N’Golo Kanté, who recently departed for Fenerbahçe, and Camavinga has been identified as one of the preferred options to fill the void left by the experienced Frenchman. His versatility, athleticism and technical ability make him an attractive candidate for the role.
The Saudi giants’ interest in Camavinga is understood to be long-standing, with the club having closely followed his situation for some time, despite the fact that he remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2029. The length of his deal could complicate any potential move, but the Saudi club are expected to lean on their significant financial power to test Madrid’s resolve.
In recent years, Saudi clubs have not hesitated to table lucrative offers to lure top European stars, and Al-Ittihad are reportedly prepared to make a huge financial proposal in an attempt to tempt both the player and his club.
For his part, Camavinga is not believed to be actively considering a departure from the Santiago Bernabéu. Since joining Real Madrid from Stade Rennais in the summer of 2021, the 23-year-old has remained focused on carving out a regular starting role, even though he has yet to fully cement his place as an undisputed first-choice midfielder.
This season, Camavinga has featured in 26 matches for Real Madrid, contributing to three goals, while continuing to be used in multiple roles across midfield and defense.
As speculation grows ahead of the summer window, it remains to be seen whether Al-Ittihad will formalize their interest with an official bid, or if Real Madrid will succeed in holding on to one of their most promising young talents.
