Mohamed Salah on the radar of Al Ahli

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli have reportedly made an initial move to explore the possibility of signing Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah following his departure from Liverpool.

As per reports, Al Ahli have enquired about Salah’s availability during the current summer transfer window as the Saudi club looks to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Despite having a year left on his contract, Salah and the Premier League giants decided to go their separate ways, bringing an end to a hugely successful nine-year spell at Anfield.

During his time with the Reds, the Egyptian forward established himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s modern history, winning multiple domestic and international trophies while breaking numerous scoring records.

It is said that Al Ahli’s interest intensified following the departure of Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez, who recently left the Saudi side after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.

Al Ahli are now believed to be searching for a marquee attacking replacement capable of leading the club into the new season, with Salah emerging as their priority target despite the club also monitoring Karim Adeyemi of Borussia Dortmund.

Currently, negotiations between Al Ahli and Salah’s camp remain at an early stage. The Saudi club has reportedly only requested information regarding the player’s sporting ambitions and financial expectations, with no agreement reached so far.

Salah continues to attract strong interest from Saudi Arabia after being repeatedly linked with moves to Al-Hilal SFC and Al-Ittihad Club in previous transfer windows.

The future of the Egypt captain is now expected to become one of the biggest stories of the summer market, with several clubs monitoring the situation of one of African football’s most iconic players.
