Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has attracted interest from Saudi Pro League clubs, who are reportedly exploring a potential transfer ahead of the upcoming summer window.
Despite the external interest, Onana remains committed to proving his worth at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old Cameroonian international was omitted from United’s squad in their recent 4-1 defeat to Newcastle, following a series of underwhelming performances, including notable errors in a Europa League fixture against Lyon.
Manager Ruben Amorim described the decision as a temporary measure to allow Onana to mentally reset, with expectations of his return for the crucial second leg against Lyon.
Onana, who joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in July 2023 for a fee of up to £47.2 million, had previously declined offers from Saudi clubs, choosing instead to reunite with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag (who has now been sacked) at United.
His current contract runs until 2028, and he has expressed a desire to remain with the club unless explicitly informed that he is no longer part of their plans.
Despite the challenges, Onana remains focused on his role at Manchester United, aiming to regain his form and contribute to the team’s objectives.
The club, currently enduring a difficult Premier League campaign, sees the upcoming Europa League fixture against Lyon as pivotal in their quest for European qualification.
