The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe and the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), His Excellency Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, have announced that Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will host the CAF Super Cup Final 2024.
This prestigious event will feature the current champions of the CAF Champions League, Al Ahly SC, and the winners of the CAF Confederation Cup, Zamalek SC.
The match is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with the venue and kick-off time to be announced soon.
Dr. Motsepe expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership between CAF and Saudi Arabia, stating;
“The partnership between CAF and Saudi Arabia is based on the excellent relationship and mutual commitment of both parties.
“CAF is excited to work together and partner with the General Entertainment Authority. We look forward to the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup Final 2024 between two of the most popular and successful clubs in Africa, namely Al Ahly and Zamalek.”
His Excellency Turki Alalshikh also shared his delight in hosting the African Super Cup at Riyadh Season, saying;
“We are delighted to host the African Super Cup at Riyadh Season, which represents one of the most important tournaments on the African continent.
“This event features two football giants from our sister country, the Arab Republic of Egypt: Al-Ahly and Zamalek. We all look forward to a competitive match that lives up to its promises.”
