Saudi and UAE clubs compete for former Romania manager Eduard Iordanescu

Former Romania manager Eduard Iordanescu has received offers from two Saudi clubs and a team in the United Arab Emirates, according to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah.

Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb has also joined the race to appoint the 48-year-old, who is considering his options before making a final decision.

Iordanescu’s most recent coaching role was with Polish club Legia Warsaw. He took charge of the side after leaving the Romania national team, although the source does not state when his spell ended.

The Romanian coach guided his country to qualification for the finals of Euro 2024, before beginning his time with Legia Warsaw.

During his tenure as Romania manager, Iordanescu oversaw 28 matches. His record included 10 victories, 10 draws and eight defeats.

He has also won domestic honours in both Romania and Poland. Iordanescu led Cluj to the Romanian league title and also claimed the Romanian Super Cup.

With Legia Warsaw, he won the Polish Super Cup.

His next appointment remains undecided, with interest from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Croatia now providing him with several options.
