Sassuolo stun Juventus with 90+4 winner in five-goal Serie A thriller

Sassuolo beat Juventus 3-2 at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday after a dramatic second half ended with Vasilije Adzic scoring the winning goal in the fourth minute of added time.

The match appeared to be heading for a draw before Adzic struck in the final moments, securing three points for the home side in one of the most eventful games of the Serie A round.

All five goals came after half-time, with neither team able to break the deadlock during the opening 45 minutes. Sassuolo eventually took the lead in the 65th minute when Sebastiano Esposito finished to put Juventus under pressure.

Juventus responded as the game entered its final stages. Edon Zhegrova levelled the score in the 82nd minute, giving his side renewed hope of completing a comeback after falling behind.

The momentum shifted again seven minutes later. Kieron Bowie restored Sassuolo’s advantage in the 89th minute, leaving Juventus with little time to respond.

However, Zhegrova struck again in the first minute of added time to make it 2-2. His second goal of the match appeared to have rescued a point for Juventus, with the contest seemingly destined to finish level.

Sassuolo had the final word. Adzic scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to settle a remarkable encounter and spark major celebrations among the home supporters.

The victory moved Sassuolo on to seven points and into ninth place in the table. Juventus remain eighth, also with seven points, with both teams having recorded two wins, one draw and one defeat.
