Senegal star Ismaila Sarr admits Manchester United is his ‘dream club’

Senegal international Ismaila Sarr has fuelled speculation over a possible move to Manchester United after revealing the Premier League club is the only team he dreams of playing for.

The Crystal Palace forward made the admission amid reports linking him with a summer switch to Old Trafford following his impressive performances for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

World Cup displays spark United interest

British outlet TeamTalk reported earlier this month that Manchester United had held discussions with Sarr’s representatives after identifying the 28-year-old as a potential attacking reinforcement.

The interest is said to have intensified after Sarr enjoyed an outstanding World Cup campaign, scoring four goals and providing one assist as Senegal impressed on the global stage.

His performances further enhanced a remarkable season in which he played a key role in Crystal Palace’s historic UEFA Conference League triumph.

Sarr makes feelings clear

Speaking to Senegalese media, Sarr admitted his long-standing admiration for Manchester United.

“My dream club? Honestly, there is only one. I love Manchester United with all my heart, and I am one of its biggest fans.”

Despite expressing his desire, the Senegal international acknowledged that his future is not entirely in his own hands.

Speaking to the Senegalese News Agency, he said:

“I have a 3-year contract with Crystal Palace; it’s up to them to decide. Football is my profession, and I enjoy playing it.”

Palace hold the key

Manchester United are expected to continue strengthening their squad after already investing heavily in the transfer market and are reportedly exploring further additions to bolster their attacking options.

Sarr is believed to fit the profile the club are seeking after an outstanding campaign in which he scored 20 goals in all competitions, helped Crystal Palace lift the UEFA Conference League trophy with nine goals in the competition and was named the club’s Player of the Year.

However, Crystal Palace are reportedly unwilling to let one of their key players leave cheaply, with the Senegal forward said to be valued at around £50 million.

Reports also suggest Manchester United may need to raise funds by selling striker Joshua Zirkzee before making a formal move for the African star.
