Samuel Umtiti is preparing for a new chapter off the pitch, with French outlet L’Equipe reporting that RMC have added the former Lyon and Barcelona defender to their broadcast team for the 2026 World Cup.
The tournament will run from 11 June to 19 July, but the 2018 World Cup winner will begin his radio work well before the action starts.
Umtiti is set to make his first appearance this Sunday on the popular RMC show After Foot, where he will sit alongside ex-France international Emmanuel Petit and other regular pundits to break down the latest Clasico. His role will be to offer insight drawn from his playing experience at the highest level.
Beyond After Foot, Umtiti will also feature on the program Generation After, all while maintaining his existing commitments with DAZN.
The move underlines his growing presence in football media and gives fans the chance to hear his expert analysis and opinions in the build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
It also signals a smooth transition toward life after playing, with a high-profile platform already in place.
