Ghanaian striker Samuel Obeng came off the bench to score his first Liga Portugal goal of the season, helping Casa Pia AC secure a 3-1 victory over Arouca in Round 15 at the Estádio Municipal de Rio Maior.
The game began evenly, with both teams boasting identical head-to-head records. However, Casa Pia quickly gained the upper hand. Jérémy Livolant opened the scoring in the 19th minute, curling a stunning left-footed shot into the top right corner from outside the box. One minute later, Leonardo Lelo doubled the lead with a clinical finish from close range, capitalizing on a precise assist from Nuno Moreira.
Arouca fought back in the second half, narrowing the deficit in the 63rd minute when Alfonso Trezza converted a well-timed through ball from Jason.
In the 88th minute, Obeng made his mark. Replacing Cassiano in the 70th minute, the Ghanaian striker connected with a perfect cross from Lelo, heading the ball into the center of the net to seal Casa Pia’s win.
The victory moves Casa Pia forward as they prepare to face Braga on December 29th.
