Aston Villa left-back Samuel Iling-Junior is being strongly linked with a move to Serie A side Pisa, with the switch currently rated at a 96% probability according to transfer data.

The 22-year-old, who holds both English and DR Congo nationality, is on the books at Villa but is presently out on loan at West Bromwich Albion. Data indicates Pisa are exploring a deal to prise him away from the Premier League club, with his current market value listed at €10.00m. With no contract expiry information publicly available, the possibility of Villa facing a decision over a sale or allowing the player to move closer to free-agent status later down the line is also part of the ongoing speculation.

Iling-Junior has already experienced both English and Italian football despite his age. Born in London on 4 October 2003, the left-footed defender came through Chelsea’s youth set-up, progressing from Chelsea FC Youth to Chelsea U18s before leaving England for Juventus’ academy in 2020. He climbed the ranks in Turin from Juventus Primavera to Juventus Next Gen and then into the Juventus first team, building a reputation as an attacking left-back capable of operating high up the flank.

A permanent move from Juventus to Aston Villa in 2024 was followed by loan spells at Bologna in Serie A, Middlesbrough in the English system and now West Brom, while his market value peaked at €13m during his time at Juventus before settling at €10m during his current spell at The Hawthorns.

Having already featured in Italy with both Juventus and Bologna, a switch to Pisa would mark a return to familiar territory and offer regular top-flight minutes in Serie A. If the reported deal does go through, it could prove a pivotal step in re-establishing Iling‑Junior as one of Europe’s more intriguing young full-backs and reshape the next phase of his career.
