David Eto’o, Samuel Eto’o, the esteemed president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fécafoot), delivered a heartfelt speech that resonated with attendees, offering a glimpse into the profound emotions accompanying his loss.

Expressing profound gratitude amidst his grief, the former captain of the Indomitable Lions extended heartfelt thanks to those who had supported him through this challenging period.

His words, infused with raw emotion, left a lasting impact on all present.

“When I was in the morgue I didn’t know that I was going to arrive with you (editor’s note Papa David Eto’o) until here, I didn’t have that strength, so everyone who helped us, who helped so that I could bring you back here I say thank you very much,” Eto’o articulated, his voice tinged with sincerity and reverence for those who had aided him in his time of need.

As he continued, Eto’o’s tribute became a testament to the enduring bond between father and son, a bond that transcended the physical realm.

“Dad get up, get up and save me because it’s your heart that I have, I only have a heart of love,” he implored, his words carrying the weight of a son’s love and longing for his departed father.

Addressing his father directly, Eto’o spoke of the profound influence David Eto’o had wielded in his life, instilling in him values of righteousness and integrity.

“Dad I know that the dead are not dead, I deliver my enemies into your hands. I will never lower my head and I will continue to do what is right in your eyes,” he affirmed, his resolve unwavering even in the face of loss.

As Samuel Eto’o bid farewell to his beloved father, his words served as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of love, family, and resilience in the face of adversity.

In this moment of vulnerability, Eto’o’s tribute resonated not only with those present but also with countless others who were moved by the depth of his emotion and the strength of his character.
