Samuel Eto’o in Demand: Valencia and Cerezo Osaka Eye Cameroonian Star
After joining Everton from Chelsea this past summer, Samuel Eto’o could already be on the move again. Despite being a recent arrival at the Merseyside club, the legendary Cameroonian striker is drawing serious interest from abroad.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Valencia CF have made Eto’o a priority target for the upcoming transfer window. The Spanish side’s new owner, Peter Lim, reportedly wants to bring the four-time African Player of the Year back to La Liga, where Eto’o previously starred for Real Madrid, Mallorca, and Barcelona.
In addition to interest from Spain, Japanese club Cerezo Osaka is also said to be pursuing Eto’o, hoping to lure him to the J-League with a late-career challenge in Asia.
At 33, Eto’o remains a highly respected figure in world football, and while Everton may seek to extend his contract, competition for his signature could heat up quickly as the January transfer window approaches.
