President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o has hailed the Indomitable Lions team spirit at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Indomitable Lions reached the quarterfinal of the continental showpiece held in the North African country. Unfortunately, Cameroon fell short to hosts, Morocco and bowed out of the tournament.
Despite the setback, the former Barcelona star makes no secret of his admiration for the spirit prevailing in the national team that took part in the AFCON.
‘When you have players like Nagida, you have players like Mbeumo who does an exceptional job in defence, yet he is the star of the team. You tell yourself that you are achieving something. It is this spirit that we want to see in the Cameroon team, with all the values that Cameroonians would like to see in their society,’ said the president of Fecafoot.
Meanwhile, Cameroon will not be participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup tournament to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The indomitable Lions fell short in the qualifiers to Cape Verde, who achieved their first World Cup qualification in history.
