Sampdoria sign French-Ivorian winger Yann Karamoh as a free agent
French-Ivorian winger Yann Karamoh has joined Sampdoria, giving the Serie B club an experienced wide attacker after his departure from Porto. The 28-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027.
Karamoh, who plays primarily on the left wing and favours his right foot, joins Sampdoria after becoming a free agent on 1 July following his time with Porto. He moved to the Portuguese club in September 2025 and was part of the squad that won the Portuguese championship in the 2025-26 season.
The Abidjan-born player brings considerable experience from Italy, France and Turkey. He has made 115 appearances in Serie A, scoring eight goals and providing five assists, while his Ligue 1 record stands at 69 appearances, nine goals and five assists. He also played 32 matches in Turkey’s top flight, scoring four times and registering two assists.
Karamoh began his senior career with Caen before moving to Inter Milan in 2017. He subsequently spent time on loan with Bordeaux and Parma, with his move to Parma becoming permanent in 2020 for a reported €8m. After a loan spell at Fatih Karagumruk, he joined Torino in 2022 for €1m.
His time at Torino included a loan return to France with Montpellier during the 2023-24 campaign. Karamoh then left Torino in July 2025 before joining Porto later that year. His career has also included appearances in the Europa League, the Italian Cup and domestic competitions in Portugal and France.
At Sampdoria, Karamoh will be part of a squad competing in Serie B and adds a player with experience across several European leagues. His career totals include six Europa League appearances, in which he provided two assists, and nine Italian Cup matches featuring three goals.
Karamoh’s move to Sampdoria was completed on 5 September 2026, with the winger’s contract secured through the end of the 2026-27 season.
