Sampdoria eye Samsunspor’s €4m-rated midfielder Antoine Makoumbou

Congolese-French midfielder Antoine Makoumbou is being linked with a move from Turkish club Samsunspor to Sampdoria in Serie B.

Makoumbou, 28, plays as a defensive midfielder and joined Samsunspor from Cagliari in July 2025 for €1.5m. His current market value is listed at €4m, while his contract with the Turkish club runs until 30 June 2029.

The player has made one appearance in the Super Lig this season, registering 70 minutes without scoring or providing an assist. Samsunspor are competing in Turkey’s top flight, while Sampdoria are the club named in connection with a potential move to Italy’s second tier.

Makoumbou began his senior career with AC Ajaccio before spending time with Mainz 05 II and Tabor Sezana. He moved to NK Maribor during the 2021-22 season and was part of the squad that won the Slovenian league title that campaign, before joining Cagliari in July 2022.

There is no indication that an agreement has been reached, and the available information does not include a proposed fee or details of negotiations. Makoumbou remains under contract at Samsunspor, where he wears the number 29 shirt.
